2011 – A Year of Excellence

Dear Reader,

I got up at 4:45 A.M. this morning. I couldn’t sleep; I was eager to start my day. You see, I have a feeling that 2011 is going to be an excellent year, and I am setting my intention now to create it. Want to join me?

A calendar year, as I may have mentioned in other posts, is an arbitrary marker of accomplishment, but for our society it can be a powerful marker indeed. So – why not make it count?! We do have that ability. We create our lives, in partnership with the universe. We have choice. We have free will. Why not use it to make the most beautiful creation we possibly can with our lives?

What would you like to create in 2011? What would you like to do? What would you like to receive, and what would you like to give  – to your family, your friends, the world? After all, this is not just about you! When you live as your fullest self, you give a great gift to the world, and you inspire others around you to do the same.

I have a desire to live this next year fully, consciously, with love and integrity. And I would love it if you join me.

If this sounds good to you – start dreaming! Between now and the first of the new year, dream a little or dream a lot. Think about what you would like to create next year. Write it down; speak it out loud – to someone you trust or into a voice recorder – and make the choice to start. Know that in making that choice, you are making a powerful statement.

In order to follow through, at times you will need to go directly toward and through what you fear most. You will need to listen carefully, and be patient. You will need to leave negativity behind. You will need to act when action feels right, and have faith in your actions. You will need to be committed to your choices, yet go lightly, with a sense of play.

This is my intention for the next year. If you’d like, we can all step forward together. As the saying goes, there is strength in numbers. We will be a loosely banded group of renegades, determined to be our best selves and to give our best selves to society.

What I will do is publish a post in your (our) support every Monday for the next year. I will share my reflections, experience and support and if you’d like, you can share your experience through your comments, questions and emails. I will write these posts in addition to my regular posting about intuition, and will be archive them in the category – A Year of Excellence, as you can see in the category list over on the right side of this page. If you miss any posts, you will be able to go to the category and catch up easily.

What is the goal? Fifty-two posts from now, we will say “Wow, what an amazing year this has been!”

Why am I taking this initiative? You could say that I am sick of fear and negativity hogging the microphone. I believe, passionately, that a great deal of good exists in this world of ours, despite what we often hear, and that people are good, despite what we are often told. If you think so too, even if you’re not sure but want to think so, make this commitment – for yourself, and for all of us. Give yourself and the world the gift of a fantastic year, lived full out!
