Dear Reader,
Earlier today, I was sitting in a crowded cafe at lunchtime, taking a few minutes to write in my journal. At the other end of my table, a tiny young tot sat with his mom and dad. He was well-behaved and very quiet, except for one circumstance…
Every time someone nearby stood up to put on their coat and leave, this young lad gave them a big, beaming smile and an enthusiastic wave, along with a loud “Bye-Bye!”
Nobody escaped the treatment, including me – not that anyone would want to escape. I was transformed by his sheer, innocent radiance, and I have carried that smile with me all afternoon.
I couldn’t help but think “What if we all did that for each other, friend, foe and stranger alike?”
So dear reader, if you haven’t yet received your wave and smile yet today, I am now sharing the one this little boy gave me, for it was easily big enough to pass around.
Ready? Here it comes…
Bye-bye!
I honor your loving heart,
John
