Journey of the Fully Expressing Soul

Dear Reader,

In this final post of the Soul Series, I am focusing on one more big topic: your journey as a soul.

In this lifetime, you are here as a soul to fully express the incredible beauty of Oneness. You will do that in the unique ways that only you can, because no two souls are alike.

At first, you will begin your journey as pure expression, with little or no awareness of the parameters of being human. Over time, you will grow in experience of your human-ness, and gain the amazing ability to express in very specific ways the true nature of your soul – something you couldn’t do as an infant.

The problem is, this process is messy. It often looks as if you have forgotten who you really are – and it sure may feel like it sometimes! It may feel like you have no connection at all with your soul awareness. This may lead you to live life, for short periods of time or for a really long period of time, purely within the human constraints of your awareness.

Here’s the good news.

• because you are a soul, your soul awareness is always available, waiting, for you to open to it.
• your soul is persistent, and will keep providing hints of higher awareness to get your attention.
• because you are living a human life, those hints will most often take the forms you experience in daily living – a feeling, a thought, an experience, a conversation, a relationship.
• because you are a soul, deep down you know what’s going on and you will eventually listen.

And so the journey unfolds. You will experience, discover, awaken, and grow into more and more of who you already are – who you always have been – with fuller and fuller expression. Your very life, and every choice you make, becomes your vehicle of soul expression.

This, to me, is one of the most beautiful unfoldings in the universe. Ever since I was a child, marveling at the idea that over time I would grow up, finish school, become an adult and do different things in the world, I have been captivated by the process of human development. And yes, I do believe there is a spiritual, soul-based component to that development.

I also passionately believe that now, more than ever, we humans must acknowledge all aspects of ourselves, and allow ourselves to experience and deepen on all levels. We are more aware than ever that we can evolve consciously, and that our true power lies in taking responsibility for that evolution.

I don’t mean to get all metaphysical on you, dear reader! The beauty of this journey is in the details of living. The delight of the soul’s journey is in each breath, each day we devote to right work, to family, to nature. It may not always feel easy, but it comes with being human, and we are in the process of redesigning this journey in every moment!

How beautiful is that?

What would happen if each of us committed to cultivating our soul awareness, discovering who we really are, and making choices from that awareness as often as we possibly can?

You would change. The whole world would change.

That’s the journey of the fully expressing soul.
