Dear Reader,
You may have noticed that I haven’t been writing much during these summer months. Don’t worry; everything is fine! But for most of June and July, I have noticed something happening in my inner world, something significant.
I cannot put a name to it, nor do I want to. Sometimes, assigning a label kills any possibility for continued growth.
I do know that this creative process, whatever it is, involves a letting go of the past, the forming of new connections, and the creation of a foundation for whatever is to come next in my work.
Can you relate?
Have you ever had that feeling that you are making some kind of big, internal shift? Perhaps you can’t quite put your finger on what it is, but you know that it’s good, and exciting. If you have had that experience, did you allow time for the process to unfold, without forcing it or attempting to classify it? Did you allow the mystery to play itself out?
I hope so!
Honestly, I planned on writing two posts per week through the summer. But as the weeks went by, that’s not what my guidance told me to do. And one thing I do know, dear reader, is that I always trust my intuition. Always. Even if it tells me to go slow when I want to go fast.
Sometimes, in fact, you may have noticed that your soul just won’t let you do something it doesn’t want you to do. If so, your job is simply to make sure the impulse does indeed come from your soul, instead of from fear or some old, limiting belief – and then act accordingly.
That is what I am doing – along with living, being a husband and a step-dad, and nurturing my inner process with contemplation and study. It is so important to allow that incubation period.
I don’t know yet what this experience means for my posting schedule in August, but I can tell you that whatever happens next is gonna be good! Stay tuned…
I honor your loving heart,
John
