Dear Reader,
One of the best ways to develop your intuition is to study with someone more experienced than you, and that’s what I did this weekend. I attended a workshop in medical intuition with Mona Lisa Schulz and I loved it. Along with being an expert in her field, Mona Lisa is big-hearted, hilarious, blunt in a good way – definitely not afraid to be herself!
During the workshop we did several readings as a group, based on the name and age of a subject. The reading subjects were not present, but were mostly people Mona Lisa knew, so we were reading them through her. I was happy with the information I received in my readings, but it was even more exciting to see the group as a whole picking up on the same themes.
We each received intuitive impressions of the subject and wrote them down without discussion, only sharing once everyone was finished. It was so interesting to hear person after person saying the same kinds of things about someone known to us only by name and age. Very inspirational, and a real reminder that we human beings (all of us!) are capable of so much more than meets the eye.
I met a lot of great people over the weekend, many in service-related professions including therapy, social work, coaching, bodywork and alternative healing modalities. I also came away with validation – based on Mona Lisa’s approach – of my own belief that an intuitive way of life is natural, accessible to us all, and not just about ethereal matters. To live fully as the gifted souls we really are, we need to access information beyond our intellects, yes, but we also need to be grounded in the details of the everyday.
Balance is key in living a purposeful life.
Today, after the workshop, I am renewed, inspired, connected to a few more intriguing people in the world, and full of ideas about next steps. So here’s the tie-in to creating a year of excellence, dear reader; have you done any professional development in your field lately? Or have you gotten out and taken a class in something that interests you? It might be exactly what you need to shake things up and help you shift your perspective this year.
Are you on the fence? Go for it!
I honor your loving heart,
John
