The Heart of the Matter
John Morris helps creative, intuitive, heart-centered people discover (or recover) their sense of purpose and passion in life. For more than 35 years, he has guided others on the inner journey. His mission is to help his clients shift the balance of head and heart, and place the heart where it belongs – at the center of life. John calls on his childhood curiosity and love of mystery to empower clients to find and follow their own inner wisdom.
The Official Stuff
John studied circus arts and dance in college, combining his love of movement with a fascination for the workings of the mind while earning a degree in psychology. After traveling the United States as a mime and street performer, he relocated to New York City to pursue dance as a career.
John performed, choreographed and taught dance for more than two decades. During that time, he earned a masters degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, in dance and dance education. His studies led him to research the creative process, and he published a portion of his findings in: “Faces of the Muse: Creativity Across Domains.”
John felt that something beyond his traditional arts training was calling him. He explored improvisational and transformative dance, and trained in Hawaiian lomi lomi, a shamanic form of bodywork. He developed a practice in insight meditation and became a trained volunteer hospice worker and death doula.
In 2001, John began his intuitive studies with Sonia Choquette, an internationally known intuitive, teacher and author. He found that his passion for dance and the mysteries of the mind were well-suited for this exploration. He realized that the power of his heart and his passion for living, in combination with the intuitive wisdom that all human beings possess, provide the keys for creating a successful, joy-filled, fully realized life of freedom and service. He soon began doing intuitive consultations as a way of sharing his discoveries with others.
Today, John enjoys working with clients individually and in groups. He is grateful for the many perspectives provided by his background in the arts, as well as his work as a trainer and consultant in corporate and non-profit America. He is certified by Sonia Choquette as a teacher and leader of Six Sensory living, and has developed his own step-by-step process for helping others create profound, lasting change in their lives. He uses intuitive mentoring to engage his clients in their own dance of exploring and living lives of freedom. John divides his time between Maine in the United States and Shetland in the United Kingdom.
