Dear Reader,
Right now, the sky outside my window is a rich blue, with some puffy white clouds along the horizon over Bressay.
Three black ducks are swimming and diving in the water close to our house.
And downstairs, a bouquet of bright yellow flowers sits in a vase on the sitting room window sill. I bought them earlier in the week for Louise, just because. Why bright yellow? Perhaps as a last celebration of summer energy… or maybe to cut through the fog and rain we have experienced here in Shetland in recent weeks… but mainly, because yellow felt right.
And that’s all I need to know.
I honor your loving heart,
John
