Dear Reader,
We have entered October. Three months left in this Year of Excellence! Now is the time to really go for it and make the final quarter of 2011 a statement of who you are and what you are about.
What does that mean for you? Is it time to have more fun? Do the work projects you most want to do, or perhaps make the career change you secretly want to make? Be more present for your family and friends? Be more present for yourself, and adhere more closely to what you value most?
It’s up to you. Once you decide, remind yourself that you have plenty of time between now and December thirty-first to make an impact, to bring your thoughts, words and actions into alignment.
What does it take?
Focus. Allow a few moments to look inward, and see what you find. Then look around you, and see if what you found within yourself is reflected in the life you are living. Make the decision to focus on what is most important to you, and you will complete your statement for the year 2011 in style.
Ask your spirit what it wants for the rest of the year, and know that it is not too late. Each time you get distracted (and you will), gently return your focus to your priorities.
I have said many times that your life is your work of art; it is also your statement to the world of what you value, what you hold dear. October is as good a time as any to make the choice to hold nothing back – let your light shine!
I honor your loving heart,
John

Focus without fixation! Your last four postings have been spot on. Granted there are parallel universes out there and maybe we’re living in one. So there you are in the Northern Hemisphere and we’re in the South. So that means we’re transitioning at the end of the year into Spring, Summer as opposed to Fall, Winter. Still it is the end of the year and time to embrace the final stretch of the year of excellence! The big lesson is going to be to focus without fixation ….. New Zealand allows me to embrace the process…. However, the temptation is to blast through (how I drive Geoff crazy by reading the last chapter of the book, because I want to know how it ends before I finish the preceding chapters). life going through the process of the happily Ha

Oops did some of my comment get cut off? I was in the process of using the happily ever after or learning about the end of the story, first and the challenge will be to continue to go through the process as opposed to flipping into a results oriented, gotta get it done, next few months!

Especially if the end of the story changes with every step you take! “focus without fixation” – great phrase! Thanks Diane.

I had to go back to this. The comment, especially if the end of the story changes….couple that with your recent posting on commitment and what feels right….really amazes me on how many layers we really live in ….in this world. Recognizing it and learning from it. Sure it’s easy to have a goal and focus on it, which not to negate how much effort that takes, but rather to be aware and then be open to experience those layers, finding new ones in the process. That takes effort! ! ! Still though I suffer from being a coward, like I do when reading a book, wanting to know how it ends before I get started. That’s that part of me which can be a protective device as, if I know the ending before I get started, I can determine how much effort I want to put into it. Sure it’s a great quality to have if you’re working on a business deal, but how rewarding is that in all elements in life? Ahhh that fine line and knowing what feels right while focusing on the next chapter.

Layer and layers and layers… it is difficult to imagine ever being bored with life, isn’t it?
