Dear Reader,
I have been writing this blog since 2009, and every year on 9/11 I have posted a reflection. This year, something feels different as I sit down to write.
There is a lot of work to do in the world. Turbulence and downright catastrophe appear to be everywhere. And yet…
I feel a sense of peace today.
Perhaps it is because I feel, deeply, that we humans are making progress. It may not be as fast as we would like. And sometimes it may seem like we lose ground far too often. It can be easy to lose sight of forward progress when vision on a truly grand scale is called for.
I see more and more groups of people uniting, either in person, via technology or in spirit to pray, meditate or visualize for right action, positive outcomes, and peaceful solutions to conflict – whether in Syria, Africa or Afghanistan. We humans, in growing numbers, are willing to find the collective strength to step forward and declare that the status quo is no longer acceptable.
A growing number of studies show that groups of people who are aligned in their intention and feeling are able to have an impact on distant events (please go to Amazon and find any recent books by Dr. Dean Radin of the Institute of Noetic Sciences.)
The ability of groups to choose and advocate for good, through the power of intention, may well be the key to our salvation as a species, and to our restoration of right relationship with dear Planet Earth. I, for one, am very supportive of that possibility.
Are you?
Do you belong to any groups, small or large, whose focus is to make a positive difference – whether small or large – in the world? If you do, I would love to hear from you! Let us know what group or groups you belong to, and why you think they are important. If you don’t let belong to such a group – turn on that intuition of yours and find one that feels right to you. To help you get started, you can Google IONS, Heartmath, The Charter for Compassion, The Shift Network, The Global Coherence Initiative… you get the idea. There is a group out there for you! If not out there, maybe in your home town. If not in your home town – maybe it’s time to start one.
Wishing you and all beings much peace on this day.
I honor your loving heart,
John
