Dear Reader,
I have lost track of how many people in the past few days have said to me: “I can’t believe it’s September already! Where did the year go?” Maybe you have had at least one freak-out moment yourself; I know I have. But guess what?
It ain’t over yet!
In fact – the best is yet to come!
The lazy days of summer (or almost summer, for those of us here in Shetland) are nearly finished. And for me, September means action! It means renewed focus on my goals, and new opportunities to integrate my experiences from the year so far into the best four months I can possibly have.
These four months ahead may well be the richest, most joyful, most productive months of your year- if you choose for them to be.
Are you in?
We started this Year of Excellence way back in January, with a desire to live fully throughout 2011. Now is the perfect time to dive in, say “Yes!” and recommit to that desire.
If you are not where you hoped to be at this point in the year, let go of any regret, judgement or worry. Your year starts now.
If you have already surpassed where you hoped to be by September – you have an opportunity to break new ground for the rest of the year!
Check in for your reaction as you read these words. Are you feeling resistance? Doubt? Full-blown panic? Or are you feeling as if you can’t wait to see what comes next? Regardless of which feelings you have, your reaction provides a clue that will help you adjust your focus for the home-stretch.
When you finish reading this post, allow yourself a few moments to become still. Thank yourself for the gift of your own feelings and reactions. Then ask: “What do I see for myself and my family for the rest of this year that would truly inspire me?”
Give yourself another few moments for an image, a feeling, or a thought to come to you. Does it feel right? Could it be fuller, deeper, more expansive? Let your insight expand and become what it wants to become – even if it surprises you.
Once you get an image you love, whether it comes immediately or over the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours, ask what step you could take right away to help your vision become reality.
Take that step, as soon as you possibly can.
I honor your loving heart,
John
